At planning stage, we advise how developments can demonstrate compliance with the varying energy and carbon dioxide emission targets set by local planning authorities across the UK. We are experienced in satisfying the London Plan targets and our technical design knowledge means we are able to provide cost effective solutions that can be taken forward into detailed design.

We are experienced in setting alternative daylight and sunlight targets to enable developments in dense urban situations to demonstrate satisfactory levels and we specialise in assessing the impact that trees may have on a development’s daylight and sunlight access.

Using dynamic simulation software, we advise how developments can demonstrate compliance with CIBSE TM59. Overheating in dwellings is becoming an increasing concern and we provide cost effective solutions to mitigate any risk.

George has several years’ experience working with some of the largest house builders in the UK, and has also worked on pioneering projects such AIMC4 and the Zero Carbon Hub’s report on closing the gap between design and as-built performance. His experience and knowledge can help to significantly reduce construction costs.

One of the most important aspects of an energy efficient building is the reduction of thermal bridging at junctions. We advise how the thermal performance of junctions can be improved and model the psi values that can be used in SAP and Passivhaus Assessments. The thermal modelling of details has the potential to reduce the cost of achieving Part L compliance.

George qualified as a Certified Passivhaus Consultant in 2012 and we use many of the principles of Passivhaus when advising our clients on low cost sustainable design solutions.  

We provide ventilation schedules to demonstrate compliance with Part F of the Building Regulations and water efficiency calculations to demonstrate compliance with Part G of the Building Regulations.

We provide air permeability testing to demonstrate that the air leakage targets set in the SAP assessment are met. When undertaking the SAP assessment as well as the air testing and a dwelling fails to meet the target, we are able to advise almost immediately on whether there are alternative, preferential solutions to retesting.

We provide BREEAM Domestic Refurbishment Assessments to demonstrate developments' sustainability credentials. Our aim is to reduce developers' workload as far as is practical and we are proactive in simplifying the assessment process.
